Guys i have 80 thou on the factory clutch & had an issue over easter.. big puff of smoke & still smelt it a couple of hours later... done alot of heavy towing, carrying etc but still 80k is not much..

Since im heading up the Cape for 3 weeks in may it might need a newie & the flywheel machined..

So can you help me out with regards to buying another toyota clutch or aftermarket.... Safari etc etc
Would be interested to know what you guys are running.

Cheers Towie

in my opinion i'd be going after market, i worked in a mine in W.A for 18mths and we only used genuine clutches but we seemed to be replacing them all the time (pretty harsh environment tho). When it came time to put a clutch in mine i decided to go with a Exedy Heavy Duty unit and was wrapped with it, it would stall in any circumstance before slipping. Did 70,000k with that new clutch before i sold it and didn't have a drama. Genuine clutches seem to be a bit weak, just my opinion.
