pretty sure they both use a340s, i do believe it has been covered in here before, so shouldn't be too hard to sort out

i have a 7mgte in my bundy it fits, but tight, though you want have to worry about cooler so shouldn't be a problem if you move the rad forward a bit

if you go 7m, do yourself a favor and rebuild it and put head studs in it, and use good quality head gasket

thanks pozman

yes ive heard they have a factory fault of blowing gaskets.
im looking at a whole car atm which has had the head gasket just done.
ill just move the radiator to the rear if its gonna be any trouble.
are you running the 7m box?auto or manual?
where did you get the adapters and how much if you dont mind?
cheers

A lot of good info on here.

http://www.supracharged.com/4runner/7mswap.shtml

Both the bundy/hilux boxes are cousins to supra boxes g52=w5x r154=r15xf, i run the r151f manual out of the turbo diesel bundy, its a bit of a hassle but ya can run the bell housing from the r154 on this box, it gets tricky tho as the input shafts are different lengths. (inch shorter on the r15xf)

The w5x bell housing will bolt straight onto the g52 no dramas at all, and I've been told (second hand info here :? ) the auto bell housings will swap as well. I think one issue with auto tho is the ones in the supra/cressida are electronic where the hilux surf may not be.

See if you can see receipts of work done, I've experienced buying cars with chemiweld holding the head gasket together before.

Wiring could be tricky if you haven't done it before, this is my third conversion but still took some head scratching, full wire diagrams and workshop manual for supra can be found here

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/T ... n=D&Page=5

It should be fairly similar to cressida engine, mines out of soarer and was much the same

Good luck, its is a fair mission, but you want be disappointed when its done

One thing I don't understand on the site previously mentioned is the modded turbo, he says upgraded to a 60 series compressor wheel, I was under the impression that 60 and 80 series CT26 owners upgraded to a 7MGTE compressor wheel...........

These can be modded for Full Manual Shift with some simple electrics if Ur keen, I had one done in a Cressida with the 7mgte, it was very good to drive as a full manualised-auto, I would imagine this would be beneficial in the bush.

Hey, Yes it fits, I had a 7mgte in a hilux. it was tight with the radiator in the front, but it did fit.

PM bubs on here, he has done the design work for an auto adapter, pretty sure he can get them made.

I can do standalone wiring harnesses for these if anyone is interested.
