Has anyone here replaced the rear Bench Seat with 2 Bucket seats at all. Looking for ideas and inspiration. Thinking 2 buckets with like a 40Litre Fridge in between to separate the Kids.

Ive seen it done but because of the rear arches they end up being too close together to fit a fridge inbetween them. you'll know what i meen if you look at your bench and you'll notice that the arches cut into the back of the seat... cool idea thoe!! Wish i still had my old 60...

Nice idea.

Ive just put vt calais seats in the front of mine, with the idea of putting some kind of cooler or a small fridge if i can find one that size.

Those commodore seats made it so much more comfy to drive.

Cheers

x2. I've been looking at VY SS seats for my HJ61, mainly because a lot of GQ guys on the patrol forum have been fitting them pretty easily.

Im computer eliterate, i wouldnt know how to put up picks,

My mate is gunna show me soon so i can do a build thread

I just made up a plate in a u shape and mounted the vt seats to that them redrilled the holes to mount to the 60 rails.

Probably the easiest thing ive done to the old girl but with top results :D

You just have to run a direct power to the seat to control the backrest

I bought the seats from a wrecker for $100 and sold the electric bases on ebay for $80 so i was happy with that.

You could use nice vr vs seats, calais ones that have no electrics would be easy.

Im inspired, might do this myself. How difficult was it lining up the seat to the 60 rails?

i drilled the frame i made to suit the seat and bolted it up,

Then i bolted the rails to the floor in the truck...sat the seat on the rails,

Sat in the seat and positioned it to where i felt comfy, and thought it looked straight.

I measured to make sure it was sitting straight, then i used a scribe with the end bent 90 degree and scribed through the holes in the seat rail to the frame.

Drilled them bolted them up, ran a couple wires and job done.

Took me about an hour and a half to do it all.

The frame i made was using 2 " x 5mm plate (3 peices...2 the length of the cruiser rails and 1 the width...welded together in a u shape with.

The one used as the cross bar (width) goes to the front of the seat, you'll know why if you use the vt seats.

No great pics of the back seat, but the ARB Dakar 60 has rear buckets. Can just see the back in the first pic.
If you can get your hands on an issue of 4WD Monthly from September 2006 it has some great photos in it. It doesn't appear to have enough room to spare for a fridge in between the seats. Maybe they're extra wide or maybe the wheel arches are in the way.
