if you look at cheezy racing sliders they actually weld a big plate to the side of the chassis rails in a couple of spots and just bolt the sliders to this.
as far as engineering ive always thought welding to a chassis is illegal, but speaking the mark(the bloke who builds the cheezy sliders) works with 2 engineers in his workshop and both are more than happy to engineer and approve his work/design.
another way is a c bracket to wrap around the chassis but if you dont have a body lift clearance is a big issue with this setup.

yeh ive thought of both, i think ill weld a plate to the chassis as i dont want to go thru the trouble of stuffing around with making a body lift.

this is the way il be doing mine soon. as my mounts currently hit the floor and annoys the hell out of me.
just use hi tensile bolts and a decent coarse thread tapped into the big plate and you shouldnt have many dramas.

10mm - 12mm plate if welding to chasis. I sandwich all mine and just make sure there is clearance between the cab and plate, no need for a body lift. Just make sure the top hole is very close to the edge of the plates. if you are going to weld a 10 - 12mm plate to the chasis make sure you find an engineer to approve it because if DOT dont like it you are stuffed without the eng approval.
