door speakers for 75 cruiser

Post by maddog_75 »

hey all,

fed up with the shitty distorting 4 inch dash speakers and am after something with nice bass and overall loud volume clarity (both which the standard speakers dont have).

i've seen a fair few photos of cruisers with 6 inch splits (i think) and they look pretty decent.

anyone got any speakers they can recommend will fit and which sound good? also whats the best way to fit them?

cheers,
george

I have 6.5's in mine down the bottom front corner. Some cutting is required and about a 25mm spacer behind speaker - I cut one out of MDF.

You'll find more options in 6.5" compared to 6".

What's your budget- and are they being driven straight off a head unit or a separate amplifier?

I had Kenwood (model?) 6x9's in mine, sounded almost as good as if it had subs. I used a 1 inch plastic spacer and never needed to cut the buggery out of the steel in the door.
