Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I only have a single battery in the patrol and am looking to mount a second battery in a box in the cabin to run my 35L Waeco.

Can anyone recomend a good (not expensive) battery box that already has the wiring?

Also what battery (not expensive like optima) and size would i need? Probably only needs to run the Waeco under 24 hours.

Work out how many amps your fridge is going to use every hour, ussually a min to max specs in the owners manual, then multiply that by how long roughly you are going to have the fridge running on the battery without charging the battery. You want a battery that will be able to do that and still have approx 30% left so the battery lasts longer. EG i have got a new engel that uses approx 1amp / hour and i use a 95 AH battery, i have the fridge connected up 2 days straight without any problems.
I spoke to the EXIDE man, and he gave me a brochure and recommended what would suit your needs and amount of use.
Expemsive isnt always the way to go.. Rember how often are you going to use it Vs Cost..

Waeco's use about 2.5AH per hour, so 2.5AH x 24 hr = 60 AH over a day.

General rule of thumb is never discharge a lead acid battery to less than 40-50% total depth of discharge (for battery longevity) and you come up with about 100AH at a 20hr rate (normally how they are specced) deep cycle battery. Normal starter batteries are generally unsuitable in the long term (>1yr) due to their construction and will fail prematurely.

Looks like i'm doing a diesel conversion now, so i should have some more space in the engine bay after i get rid of the LPG gear.
