Something really weird happened last night to my wipers... they stopped going to the bottom of the windscreen during their cycle... now theyre stopping about 50mm short of the bottom.
If i get out of the car and push on them they go past the bottom point too.
Are my wiper motors shagged or is there something im missing?

the wiper arm isnt slipping on the pivot is it? There should be a phillips head bolt at the bottom of the wiper arm holding it on.

Ah-hah - good point!
I just tested them when i went to lunch - on a slightly dry window they bounce along the windscreen and stop in the wrong spot - but using the window washer which has soap in it the glide nicely and stop correctly.
Must be slipping with the extra resistance!
Thanks =P

hrm, well more rain while i was driving home and theyre doing it no matter how wet the window... i've removed the plastic cover at the pivot end and under that is a 10mm nut, which i assumed if i undid i could take the wiper off an reposition it - however thats not the case!! Taking the nut off does nothing at all! The arm is just stuck there.
I can though, by hand, push the wiper down to where its supposed to be and a touch further, as well as by hand lift the wiper up about 1/4 of the way up the windscreen before the motor stops me moving it. To me this says the motor is stuffed right? having that much play in it.
Taking out the whole dash to fit a new motor is going to SUCK!!!! If thats the case - is there an easy option here to get to the motor?

im gueessing your zook is a hard top. if it were a soft top you could simply fold down the windscreen.
It is unlikely to be the wiper motor that is the problem. more likely that is the plastic bushes in the wiper arm linkages.
If you happen to find a place that sells just the plastic bushes let me know. I have only been able to buy the whole linkage set, and at $50 I waited until I found a good second hand set.

You want linkages?? could have asked or try the wanted section.
By the way, ring your brother if you get your hand off it that is.

ahhh - well mine is indeed a soft top =)
im sure brian at suzistore would have the bushes - i assume theyre behind the windscreen surround and a part of the motor assembly?
Might look into that - thanks.
