Hey Gang,

I have a 84 Hilux Xtracab with a 3Y 2.0L motor with a G52 gearbox and transfer case...

I am looking to do a full conversion (if funds are available EFI).

Has anyone got any recommendations. Would prefer to steer clear of Holden conversions.

Cheers'
TD

your asking a question that so many people are going to have a different opinion or suggestion. do some research. what are you going to use the vehicle for just cause one motor is right for one persons aplications dont meen its going to be right for anothers. get a few ideas. ask yourself a few questions. how often do i go 4x4n. how much highway cruising do i do. do i spend a lot of time in traffic. do i do a lot of towing.

have fun

A 3rz is an all round motor, good fuel economy well as good as a 2.7 is going to get, torque, power, aftermarket parts, its a basic motor easy to work on, has coil packs as good as stock ignition gets, etc etc etc. can be used in a grandpa spec car or a comp truck.

And the yanks love them so forged and aftermarket improved parts are dirt cheap and plentiful.
