im after someone who can give me full diminsions and drawings (rough) of rear drawers for a gq lwb. im looking at building a set but it seems that i wont be able to have them level with the 2nd row of seating (folded down). i was hoping that i could fold down the seats and have a good solid flat area for my matress. any help would be great.

i have seen it done.. but the fram needs to be thin and you dont get much in your draws.. or you could make something to raise the folded seat height..
now for your question on dimensions.. seriously its not that hard jump in the back of your car for 10mins and measure because if u cant measure them ur self i doubt ul be able to make them your self.. plus it wont be what YOU want...[/b]

cheers for your veiw. am more than capable of building the draws myself. i am simply reasearching other ideas. i would like to hear of some successful designs (ie. false floor over 2nd row seating, side hatches over wheel arches, jack access etc.)

something like this ??
no dimentions. it use to sit higher than the seat folded flat. but when you took the headrest off and sat it on the folded seat it was all flat. then made up some simple legs to help support the corners.
total flat space was 1850mmx1XXXmm. was a great bed but tight between that and the roof. however i did spend a few wet nights there when mates were sleeping on the ground in swags.
got a family now so now we camp with a big ass tent. if i'm away with the boys i just use the swag. and use the fridge.to hold 2 cartons of beer. love my fridge.
now it looks like this

Thanks mate, perfect! thats nearly spot on to what ive drawn up ( minus the sub box. already made the main box out of 12mm cd ply (approx 1080w x 920L x 205h) which gives me roughly 900x500x 180 internals for the draws. perfect for the camping plates, cups etc in one side, and the recovery gear in the other side. ive just bought 2 sets of draw runners rated at 100kg per pair just in case i decide to put anything different in there later down the track. i mount the fridge in the trailer with a seperate battery and solar panel to free up some space for sleeping. cheers for your help mate.
