During the changing of the dead/seized alternator, the checking revealed one disturbing noise didnt go away. After a bit more listening with a pole on various parts, it was coming from timing case area. Took a bit of thinking before pulling it all out, but lucky I did, the idler/cam belt adjuster bearing was stuffed, could have been serious later. Me lucky alternator died, or may not have found this potentially more expensive prob. Cost me nothing but coolant, as I had old one from the old Sierra donk, but if left unattended, it may have killed a lot, or all of my new donk. It wasnt very old, wasn't dirty or anything, so just a bad luck thing, christover

would of been a good excuse for a new, more powerful motor

anyways, just had the timing belt - came out looking like brand new (after 60 000 k`s) but hey, just in case right...
