Hey Boys,

I have just purchased the above car and am getting really bad fuel consumption. over 20L/100km.

So far i have checked the air filter, Had the Injectors replaced and had the injector pump pressures checked.

Can anyone tell me anywhere else to look?

Cheers,

Welchy

maybe some more info will get you answers.
Tyres?
Lift?
Accessories (weight) ?
Roof rack?
Towing?

All will be factors.

Does the car feel sluggish or underpowered? Smoke? Any other symptoms?

I dunno, i have never driven a factory turbo before but it definatly doesnt have the balls of my Gq with aftermarket turbo.

No smoke.

ouch that sucks!

I have the same vehicle but with roadies instead of the stt's and get 13.5L/100 every tank, with extra herbs on tap.

has the fuel pump been wound up? does the power seem good? or is power down? perhaps injectors not spraying effectively, so poor burn?

Fuel pump pressure have been checked and set to factory.

All the injectors have been replaced.

Check valve clearances, pump timing, check for inlet and exhaust restrictions.

sum of the gu,s and gq,s have gauze filter in the injector pump and that can get clogged also change your fuel filter

Air flow can be a problem with them ... doesn't take much to block the air filter so i would try a new one in case the one thats in there is the wrong one or something.
