Hey All,
Got an 85 Rocky, have fitted new brakes, machined drums etc and no matter what we do can't get the handbrake to engage properly. Have adjusted it inside drums and at the cable underneath? Any ideas?

Its wrong to adjust it from the cable underneath, have you changed the cable with a new one ?

when you say it wont engage properly, do you mean that it doesnt fully brake? I have the same issue, my driveway is kinda steep and i'm a bit concerned that it one day will roll into my retaining wall.

Take a look on the Rocky brake system manual
http://www.warfs.org//manuals/F70_F75_F ... System.pdf
page 13 parking brake lever
I would suggest to take off the drum and hold up the handbrake to see if the brake pads are moving at all.
