After a run out to Anglesea and back the rear locker is leaking oil from the solenoid.

New ARB locker, not even used yet, but been in there almost 10 months with no issues. Tested and working after install, jacked off the ground.

Causes?

Diff breather is not blocked.

It has not been used apart from testing after install.

There is also more oil than would be used for assembly.

This new design was a pain to fit, making sure you don't damage the internal air line while fitting as it crosses over the crown wheel.

Guess I'll just have to pull the axles and diff out and see what's what.

Will drop ARB an email tomorrow too.

diff not breathing properly.
not enough preload on carrier bearings.
seal housing not floating on airlocker properly.
damaged o rings caused by any of the above.

your oil in the air lines will come down to at least one of these things.
who built the diff?

Agmech at Bayswater.

Will strip it out and have a look next weekend, not happy though as it is unused to date.

a professional fitter would have a test rig to bench test it.....well....on a bench and not once its in the car.

I fitted it and tested it.

I think he meant installing the locker itself, not just putting the diff into the housing/car.

Turning it on and off every now and then helps as well. Pushes any oil that has got into the air line from contraction and expansion, back into the diff.
