Do you need to upgrade your brake booster when you go to a 1" bore master cylinder? [ 80 series ]

Some back ground, i have upgraded the rear diff with a later model with bigger rear brakes, which made the brake pedal a bit lower.
So fitted a 1" master cylinder i had, which made the pedal higher but also harder to push. It does pull up a lot better now thou.
Will also fit my v6 front calipers but not sure if i will need a bigger booster aswell?
Has standard 83 model booster on it now.

Wanted to know if people who went with a 1" master also swapped in the dual diagram booster?

Cheers

I would really recommend upgrading the booster as the pedal will be pretty solid if you dont.

I havnt swapped booster yet but its a must do.

Might try the front calipers first as fitting an 80 booster to a gen1 lux is a bit more involved than the later ones.
The studs need to be longer as you need to use a spacer.

I've gone a 1" master with the rear disc conversion, without the larger booster. Pedal is a little hard, it would be better with the booster, but its not absolutely necessary. I will be swapping in the future though.

Yamaha-308 Do you run the standard front calipers and booster?
What are people paying for 80 series boosters?

A guy i know wrecking an 80 said he wanted $350  for the booster and master as thats what the wreckers wanted, so he can keep it for that sort of money.

Yep, standard fronts and booster. Subaru fronts on the rear.

I paid $165 posted through ebay for the MC. Fark $350...

Not sure about the booster though.

I run 4 wheel disc's on my 94 hilux with the standard booster and 80 series master, the brakes are perfect.
