From what ive read and seen, the short answer is yes. But its not like shimming say, and R200 diff. The paj ones run multi pack clutch type, with about 7 or so "clutches" and the same in "discs" from what ive read in the Paj workshop manual they ALL get replaced. Its not as simple as just dropping in a thicker shim and tightening her up.
Sounds like it would be an expensive operation, I know my Gen1 had a reco LSD fitted before I bought it, receipts indicate about $600 Exchange, and that was a few years ago now.
I opted to go with an Air locker instead, they come up on ebay every now and then and fetch about $500 or so. Either this, or source an Open diff from an EXE model and weld it?

there was an open center on the bay the other week, listed at $20, didnt even get a bid. Same center as an l300 or tritton from that era just FYI.
