Where does the Tacho get its signal from on a 86 EFI rangie?
I just got mine going again and for some reason the tacho is realy lazy. It reads 0 at idle and i rev it to about 2grand before the needle moves. The only thing that i didnt use from my rangie motor was the alternator. I used the disco one instead but surely lucas wasnt that stupid to use the alternator as a pickup like nissan did in the patrol? The disco alternator runs a different size pully.

I think there is the prob mate - I am pretty sure it was the alternator but Chuck has probably told you about that now - swap him for a bosch off an ice pack and use the old pulley worked for me
