whats the difference 3 bolt and 4 bolt power steering box

hi just wondering witch is better between ht e3 bolt and the 4 bolt steering boxes

Apparently the four bolt boxes are stronger. If there is anything else I don't know.

the three bolt is slower steering too right ?

cause i was going to put a 93 disco one in a 74 rangie and i got told it would be faster in the steering.

The differance is one bolt on the top plate lol

The main difference is the 3 bolts use bronze bush's where as the 4 bolts use bearings .

Are they interchangable? Can you fit a four bolt box to a RRC with a 3 bolt box?

You can but then you need the whole schebang, hose fittings are different so you need the matching ps hoses and possibly the matching pitman arm as well.

Im pretty sure you only need an Oring addapter for the early lines to fit the 4 bolt box.
