Hi all,

I have a 02 gu wagon fitted with a 6.5 chev,315 MTZ,crown + pinions out of qa 4.5 ltre petrol (3.5 ratio ?)

I have noticed a noise whilst under continuous load only, as in while running for long period of time in soft beach sand
i can only explain as if something is wound up and then lets go with a loud bang , the auto part of the hubs have been removed so now are manual op only.

any ideas please

An obvious question, but are you sure both ratios are the same?

Had the car since new(2002).
Got me buggered as to what it is,definitely comes from the passenger side of the car though.wheel bearings were replaced less than 5thou ago so all is good there.
