99 hilux front diff :?

Post by boger »

hi guys i got a 1999 hilux with the ifs now on the driver side where the cv bolts onto the diff that is all loose and clunks when u are going over a bump
on the road what is this would this be just a bearing gone in the diff housing and what do i need to do to fix this.
i am allmost certain the front dif will have to come out but i want to make sure before i pull it out that there is
not something trivial that i might be missing, cheers

Check that the axle flange hasn't moved outward from the diff, here is a pic of how it should sit,

It is held in by a snap ring that engages once the axle is inserted far enough itno the diff.

Yep, best pic I have, hopefully it demonstrates how far in the axle should be.
