MK sway bar and canopy questions

Afternoon all,

I am currently looking at getting a canopy for my MK Dual cab. My question is, the tray has a factory steel "headboard" fitted just behind the rear window, which appears to be part of the tub. Do canopies fit around this, or does it need to be cut off? Also, i have a tray liner. Would this need to be removed first, or left in place. Im currently thinking about making drawers for the tray, but if not, i would prefer to leave the liner in place.

Also, the bushes on my sway bar are in need of replacement. Where would be the best place buy them from, and is it an easy job to do myself?

Thanks for any assistance.

In regards to the Headboard, it depends on the manufacturer of the Canopy. Some will fit around the headboard (3XM) and some will require the headboard to be removed (Flexiglass). Either way, the appropriate angle and hardware are supplied to either dress the Tub, if the HB has been removed or an angle is supplied for the canopy to seal on if the HB is retained. I hot tip for the latter, is to have a slight curve across the front of the tub (Higher in the middle), so the canopy will seal better as most Canopies only clamp to the sides.

The tub liner can stay, however it will need to be removed to cut the headboard, then placed back over the finished "dressed" tub if this is the case. I have found that if I'm fitting draws then i tend to leave the liner out, as it makes it very difficult to mount the draws as they have ribs and curves etc which get in the way, and depending on the height of the draws, there will only be a small amount of Tub exposed, so its not worth the hassle.

With the Sway bar bushes, I would source them from either Repco, Bursons or Pedders. Any after market parts supplier should be able to get them. If it is the "D" bushes you are after, then i would take a measurement of the SB before calling as some models had different width Swaybars. I would also do the link pin bushes as well.

Hope this helps, Gabe.
