Hey there folks,
I was wondering how to exchange the drive flange seal in the front diff of a y60 since it is leaky.
Can I just loosen the locknut and pull off the flange or wil my pinion drop out?

drive flange seal
n
Its easy
Take the load off the diff (unlock the hubs or jack it up) gears.
remove tailshaft
big pipe on socket as its fairly tight - I made a flat bar with some bolts to lock the drive flange and rested the end on the ground to hold it steady
rip out seal
fit new seal
I did both mine recently - no dramas.
Oh, go the genuine seal as the aftermarket ones were not the same. I paid $29 each from Nizzbits
