Oil pressure question- 30 row oil cooler

Hey guys in a few weeks i'm moving back to NSW from WA, and due to my hilux struggling with high temps the whole time i have had it, i'm moving in Winter to make it easier...

Now the question is, will a 30 row oil cooler bolted to the underside of my bonnet (i have a large bonnet scoop) running a sandwich plate off the oil filter using a 1HZ sandwich plate (finally sorced one which will fit my engine) Will there be enough pressure to pump it up to the bonnet, through the oil cooler and back into the engine?

I'm trying to lower my temps as much as possible, my turbo sits at a constant 7-9Lb of boost at 110km/h...

Cheers
Brad

Yes, although in front has to be better, not copping heatsoak from the motor to begin with, hoses aren't in risk of moving onto the motor/turbo/manifold etc.

I really don't think the oil cooler will do much to aid your problem, an intercooler if you don't already have one would far outdo the oil cooler in the fight for cooler engine temps.

Is there not a bigger problem that this is trying to fix?

eg, the head, radiator not working 100%, clutch fan, tune on the inj pump?....

i had the problem on the 2.8 and did everything including the intercooler, then i went a 5Le motor 3.0L fuel injected diesel with my turbo setup from the 2.8..

I have exactly the same high engine temps i have always had. and this engine has a computer to controll the fuel properly... but my EGT's usually run around 300-350 degrees C, i have never had it above 370 degrees....

The oil cooler is not surposed to fix the problem only help with the motor struggling with high coolant temps.

turbo is a T25 and is only oil cooled, thinking these engines have a oil cooler inbuilt in the block (water cooled) this would have to help as i only overheat when sitting on high boost for long periods of time..(the reason for trying to cool the oil)

This motor has 90,000kms on the clock, with running a larger alloy radiator, new thermostat, clutch fan repacked and works good... (just a bit of info)

It cools down rapidly off boost....

Can't help with your questions, but am interested in the 1HZ sandwich plate, could you please tell me where you got it from?

Thanks.
