my 15 x 14 steel rims have arrived, and i want to beadlock them. i rand eastern wheel works, (a really helpful guy). he quoted me to weld on the rings, but not to supply. he refered me to pgs in mornington for the rings. is there anyone else that supplies the rings? or imports them? i remember big balls offroad had some (i think), does he still sell them? thanks in advance.

You can also try Action 4wd down here in Warragul m8, Neil was making some rings last time I was there, he is certainly worth a call.

PGS have done mine and they be all ok.
And I'm sure they have rings available.
G & J Gears are having a sale and have complete beadlocked rims for sale for $80 atm. They are ok if you get plates machined that go b/w outer & inner rims. (cost about $50 a few years back) See Just 4x4 mag.

Read Just 4x4 for more info about the G & J beadlocks but we had them on a GQ SWB and, along with heaps of others, busted bolts. They are easily fixed with spacer plates and are a steel at the price if its correct. Prob is that the outer ring isz too flimsy and flexes too much.

Whoops, Yes they are in Vic, Mornington to be correct. 0359761585 is the number I think. And NO, I'm no salesman. I'm just passing on info to my fellow web wheelers.

Perhaps an upgrade to some decent grade 8 hardware is in order ..
Ham many bolts per wheel ??
Reckon I might have to call em in the morning ..
Thanks for the info ..

If you are planning on doing lots of Rock work i wouldn't recomend them. There is nothing to protect the Rim and its easy to get rocks and mud in between the rim and bead.

If you buy a kit make sure the outer ring is not too thin. I know the ones that Big Balls used to sell are very thin and bend real easy.

c.o.r.e in brisbane (0402 842989) does great work. a mate of mine got a set a while back. don't leak, tuff as - new design, self aligning bead. he's got 5 of my 15x10's at the moment, costs $250 - $300 + with paint etc per rim. fully stress releived etc. a lot dearer than the weld your self ones, but big tyres have more surface area hence more pressure on the bead - wouldn't trust crap!. also wouldn't write off good 15x14's with crappy rings!
cheers

M & M Custom engineering have a weld in kit, they do have the beefier rings, as RUFF said, you don't want to use a thin inner or outer ring.

SInce you have 15 x 14 rims you are going to be running big tyres. I wouldn`t be going with el cheapo beadlocks. Look into them lots before you get any and make shore the ones you get have the lip for the inner and outer rings to line up as the way I see it this carrys the wieght and it isn`t ALL on the bolts. Also the more bolts in them the better and the outer ring should be curved where it sits over the bead, not just flat like alot of the cheaper ones.

I have run PGS sourced rings with Eastern 6mm flanges for over 4 years. They are reliable (now

) but took lots of rework. I have recently fitted plates and reversed the bolts. These have made an enormous difference... bolt tension and the amount of flexing of the rings as the bolts are tnesions is much less.
I reckon that 44's woudl make mincemeat of them though - I would go with something way stronger - CORE maybe??
PS the pic is of my current set up. I am doing the same thing with my Zook project. The "uncoventional" reversed bolts (nuts on the outside hummer styley) are to make tensioning them easier, and add traction.
