47 series dashlight replacement

hi i have heard about being able to pull my dash cluster apart and pull some plates out to let more light into the instruments, is this tru and if so how is it done. also can i upgrade the bulbs to make them brighter aswell,

Pull the centre out, (two bolts) then lean it forward, disconnect the speedometer, and lift it out. Then unfold the clasps, and pull the shrouds off with pliers, easy as. No need for brighter bulbs, as it is just so much better, just put new bulbs in when you are there, and you will be surprised.

Remember to only remove the shrouds around the 2 lights on the left and right hand sides. It will make a huge difference. I replaced my lights with LEDS, dearer, but I think it's worth the cost.
