JDM GU shortys and GQ Shortys ran the RD28T with an auto as optional, so wouldn't be hard to adapt.

But it would slow.

No GQ SWB sold in Australia ever came with a RD28T motor and no RD28T here in Australia was sold with a Auto, thats GQ and GU, they were all 5spd manual cause the GQ and GU RD28T used the FS5R30A gearbox that the RB30 used, no difference.

so to answer your question no there are no Auto RB30 patrol's

you might be able to adapt a Skyline Auto by making the transfer case divorced. but it might be a bit of work.

Wasn't aware of this. What auto box did they run?

looked into doing rb30/26 into mine .. from memory using the tb42 auto box with rb25 auto trans bellhousing and flex plate with a 300zx convertor(patrol has a bigger input shaft than rb25.. pretty sure 300z was the same size) will work

Not sure mate, there are a few Pom's on www.patrol4x4.com that would be able to tell you.

I remember seeing a few auto RD28T powered GQ shortys on EBAY UK.

Another site with info is http://english.auto.vl.ru/
