Outer Limits 4x4 Board

okay i have another question i recently cahnged the back diff center because i striped my gears and since i have put another one back in it it has been making a strange sound like something is tapping on something else as far as i can tell it is coming from the gearbox i think

Did you happen to seperate the transfer end of the tailshaft out of the slip joint while you had it off the car?

I think maybe now that you've changed the diff centre there is something tapping on something else.

Did you get all the bits of ground up diff gears out of the housing?

yea i cleaned it all out with degreaser and all the shavings were out and yes i did separate the tail shaft from the slip joint

Then you've probably put the shaft back together with the unis out of phase. Diff end uni and transfer end uni have to be aligned with each other as you sight down the length of the shaft. Even slightly out can cause vibrations/noises.
