Official height of an 80 series

Hi everyone

I need to know a few measurements of a standard 80 series.

I want to put on the legal 2 inches of suspension lift you’re allowed in my state, but the tricky thing is after you put an actual 2 inch lift in a spring, for some reason or another, such as the spring being old, it may sag a fair bit.

Mechanics have told me that the law doesn’t come back to how much suspension lift you have, it comes back to the actual height at the end of the day, but you can’t have the car full of things like a storage system, roof rack, golf clubs, heavy duty bumper, bull bar etc.

I need someone to give me some sort of measurement on a standard 80 series between the axle and the chassis, the top / bottom / middle of the hub and the body, something like that, excluding the lift from my tyres or different tyre pressures.

It’s a 94 Sahara auto turbo diesel, but the measurements for other 80 series cruiser are fine.

The thing is I could swear my 80 series doesn’t sit as high as other ones with 2 inch suspension lift. If it doesn’t, I’ll put spacers in the springs or something.

Thanks everyone.

The distance between the bumpstop and the diff on the front is approx 30-35mm on 80 and 100 series cruisers in std form.

You can't do it like that, you will never get the rates/height sorted out. Find another mechanic, or go to an engineer. An engineer will cost you some money, but it will be way better in the long run than dealing with mechanics and cops that have no idea.

what OLDMATE said.

what ur mech is tellin you is silly, at work we have never unload a car of every thing like bullbars or towbar, etc to see what hight it sits at for a RWC.

oh and im goin to measure some suspention stuff on an 80's ova the next two days so ill get back to u on what i find.
