I'll state the obvious here,

If you have serviced the car only to get noticable reduced fuel effeicency(SP)
then I would suggest you leave the fuel screw alone.
As they are not a cheap engine to fix!
re-check what you touched and /or take it to a professional.

cheers

There is no black magic surrounding the fuel screw, turn it up too far and EGTs 'can' increase. turn it down too far and car is so slow it's a dog.

No magic bullet for economy from the fuel screw I am afraid but yes you can get better economy from it with a reduction but it will always take the same amount of hp/energy to accelerate the car up any speed and then to keep it there.

Does the car accelerate noticeably better after the service? what was the service?

quite wrong there... diesels create more heat with more fuel.. but you can stuff the engine if your not putting enough fuel in any way...

ryco the brand of filter is for the air and no smoke out of oil cap and no crap like that either

If the fuel filter was done did you fit it correctly and bleed the system properly.
