yeah mate, mine was originally drums all round, but one of the previous owners put discs on the front, but didn't upgrade the booster. Net result is a very spongy brake pedal. The 60 series booster will fix this I'm told.

Disclaimer: I'm yet to do this though (it's high on my list!!)

This looks like a easy way to get discs on a 40 series rear diff.

It is, but only works with the early 8 bolt backing plate pattern, wont work with the later 4 bolt pattern.. For the 4 bolt pattern the conversion is essentially the same, just you need custom caliper brackets.. I believe Eureka make these..

The rear axle/brake setup is the same on a BJ as it is on an FJ isn't it?

Sorry for the hijack..

the kit i am after or the brackets at least is something i haVE SEEN
in america
they use a dba disc when talking to them they said it is a dba disc made for commodore but with the center machined out to fit landcruiser axle
they use gm caliper but these are too small for my liking
i would like to use this disc as with the offset of the hat it has the same track as drum setup but want to use a hilux caliper

if anyone knows of an existing kit this would be tops.
