Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi all

i have a 2005 single cab Ford Courier, and recently changed the wheels and tyres. previously i had 205R16s/ standard wheels and tyres, i have just put 31x10.5R15's on although they only measure 740mm so are more like 30's, they are second hand goodyear wrangler h/t. After putting these on i have noticed that my steering has gone bad. if i hit any small bump in the road it wants to dart off in another direction. there is also alot of freeplay in the steering wheel. I got the tyres ballanced and wheel allignment, but it does not seem to have made much different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also searching for a cheap snorkel that will fit 2005 2.5L diesel with standard wheel arches (ARB told me theirs does not fit model with wheel arches, is this true?)

How different is the offset on the new rims? That could account for the twitchyness. New tyres may also give a different "feel" that may take a bit of getting used to.

Snorkel - why would we know any better than the people that make them?

i did the same thing with 06 model, I went from 265/70/15's up to 31/10.5/15's and had them on hilux rims, it was all over the place so I put the tyres onto the standard alloys and never did it again.

As for the snorkel airtec do one that will fit the guard will or without flares, the standard price from tjm is around $450.00,
thats next on the shopping list.

The Safari snorkel is listed as not fitting the Courier (mine is the 05, 2.5TD) but is ok for the same Bravo. Turns out the top of the "C" on the Courier badge holds the snorkel just off the guard but other than that was a perfect fit.

I'm running 31 BFG ATs on 15" rims without drama, I've done about 15k of bush/beach/hill/track driving on them and I'm very happy so far.
