I was wanting to get some info on these and what there status is in these times. In my old mans younger days of wheeling almost everyone he used to go 4wding with had them.

Why arnt they as common anymore?
The reason im asking is I heard that once apon a time an uncrossable river become do able when 3 landrovers (series 2A and 3)and 2 toyotas (40 series I think) all joined themselves together on A frames effectively making a 20 wheel drive and no one got washed away.
I was wondering if anyone thinks the same principle could be applied in the case of a sierra being towed by a patrol. I have a friend who has a property that has the howqua river as the border. It gets too high for me in the sierra to cross but the bigger cars get through.

What do people think?

It will not be holding your back stable.
Nothing to stop you rolling or jackknifeing in heavy current.
Maybe if you were the centre of three vehicles.
