100 Series Lift, Turbo Questions
Hi,
I am doing a suspension lift on my 100 series very shortly. I am just wondering what size lift is a good height to roll 35's. I have been looking into a 4" or 5". Just wondering your thoughts and if possiable post pictures!
Also has anyone turboed their 100 series 1FZ? Do they make good power?
Any help would be great.

Turbo'd My 1fz end of last year. Very happy with it. Makes 182kw at the back tyres with 33s on, thats with roughly 7 psi tune and through an auto. No intercooler yet either. Tuner is fairly confident that 240rwkw is achievable with a good cooler. This is on a std internal 200,000km motor. Go forged Rods and pistons and a decent head gasket/head bolts and over 300rwkw is possible. This is what i am going for when its time to rebuild.
As for lift, i am loking at putting 36 inch swampers soon. I am going to try and run 3 inch lift as i want to keep it as low as possible with these tyres on (plus i already have 3 inch lift ). Speaking with just a measuring tape for now, I think you may have to remove the front mudflaps but see if they fit first as not all 35s measure exactly 35 inches.
I believe there is a thread in the cruiser bible section about running 36s. Goes into a bit more detail, and there is pics too.

As for the first question i think personaly that 3" is a good lift as it doesn't require huge mods eg brake lines sway bars extensions adjustable panhards etc. and they handle much better. I had 5" lift in my 80 for around a month before replacing it with 3". I run standard 16x8 steel rims with 35s and you wouldn't even know, no rubbing or anything.
For Macca do you run a piggy back ecu or full aftermaket or standard as i have been led to beleive the y will handle up to 10psi. I am about to turbo mine and just looking for little heads up. Especially would like to know the turbo size you are using.

With a 3" lift 35s scrub at the back of the front gaurds, need to remove front mud flaps and heat up the plastic inner gaurd and remould the "bump" out of the way.
Rears scrub on the inner gaurd just above the chassis on full up travel. To do it correct you will need to extend the sway bar mounts, brake lines are fine but check the factory front diff breather hose

As for tyres scrubbing i rekon the offset on the rims is wrong but we have made 37" treps clear on a 100 with standard offset steel rims and inner gaurd trimming on front (the bump in the footwell to the outer edge) and nothing required to the rear with 3" lift and adjustable arms.

you will easily fit 35s with 3"! this would be a great height! im running 6 "lift with 38x15.5s on my 105 series! I moved my front diff forward as im in process of lowering mine to 4" and want to run 37s but with no mods and 3" lift with 35s you will be fine, just take off your front mud guards as eventually you will loose them at hard lock whilst flexing up

I run a complete aftermarket computer. Id say you could use a piggyback but could be a bit tricky to tune right and alter later on with different mods. I didnt want to run a piggy back to find out i needed an aftermarket anyway.
The Turbo is a GT35/40 .50 Comp housing .82 exhaust. It spools up really nicely as they are a big engine. Was thinking i could have gotten away with a 1.06 exhaust housing, but this is a good match for the stock engine... ...for now.
I got all the turbo on and going without computer. It hit 4psi and started to splutter. But i just cruised over to the tuners to get computer installed.

Mate go 2" lift and 2" body. little more work but with money saved on lift you could get a locker and 33's.GU_BEEST wrote:Hi,

With just 4" and 35's my back tyres scrubbed at full flex. Not worth chewing up expensive tyres.
Plus if you go a big lift you run risks of trouble with cops unless you hav eng cert and then aparently its real hard to get someone to approve 35's.

Oh yeah but 4" lift 2" body will fit 35's comfortably
Edit i take that back, dont think you can do a body lift due to air bags.

Ford did most of the thinking for me. I used to own a FPV F6 typhoon. Had 307kw at the wheels. Similar sized motor. And i liked the way it worked together.

Do you have a lift in it already? I put a 2" OME kit in my 105 and was surprised at how high it came up, i only run 33's but am pretty sure with the right offset rim you could have 35's under it no drama. I also have a 80 series which has a 2" dobinsons kit in it and it runs 35's all day every day without scrubbing at all, i think its trick is nissan offset rims. Only had to remove fr mudflaps.
