hey guys im new here, just thinking about buying my second 4x4. i had a rodeo back when i first got my licence but never seen much off road.

i founnd a 85 model dual cab hilux with a injected 308 conversion, wanted 6000 for it but it down to 4500. also has 3moths rego. heres the add.

let me know what you think eg good buy or not so good buy??

thanks in advanced.

1985 Hilux dualcab 4x4
EFI 308 5 Litre V8, 5 speed manual
31x10.5x15 all terrain tyres 3x good tread 1x not so good
15x7 sunnys
arb bull bar
rear step + tow bar
Rollbar/sports bar
dual thermo fans
aftermarket bucket seats
bonnet scoop
pioneer cd player w/remote, kenwood 6x9s
3 months rego

ute runs great and sounds great, gearbox replaced recently to an upgraded one as the standard hilux box dosent handle the v8 so well, could do with a respray as paint is original and has crows feet, a little chipping and a couple of small patches of unmatched white, body is reasonably straight no major dents just a few tiny ones here and there, Engineers cert covers everything, and should only need the speedo fixed to get it over the pits, overall very reliable ute and has never let me down

Regretfull sale, need something the mrs can drive and uses a bit less fuel, would consider a trade for a IFS hilux or 4runner or something similar in decent condition.

price drop need to sell $6000 ONO.

Hilux's with V8's are pretty good. A mate of mine has decided to sell his hilux and asked me to advertise it on here for him, and I will do so in the next weeks or so. Its a 92 hilux with a complianced mild 253 in it. Goes pretty good hey.

I reckon you are about to buy someone elses problems.

why does it need to go over the pits?
sounds bodgy.

test drive it, check for general condition, over heating, see who did the conversion using what parts? how long he owned it?

check that on the rego the engine conversion etc is all on there?
or better yet agree to a price but dont pay until the rego is changed.
alot of people get burnt with this sort of thing. and alot of bodgy V8 conversions floating about.

thats my 2c.
