Sad to see, you think with all that sand around they would have started shovelling sand all over it, wouldn't you??

Why was there what seems to be fuel shooting out of the engine bay? Hard wired pump or something?

Nitrous is very violatile , i have seen a mates car bonnet go 30 ft in the air after switching the car off to collect timing slip , NOS still armed , hit the key and boom !!! lifted the bonnet ( fibreglass ) skyward :D

It done alot of damage to the top half ( inlet manifold , carby ) of the motor as the bottom end was tuff as chuck norris on steroids .

I know NOS is volatile, but i didn't think it was immediately flammable. I could be shit wrong though. It would be interesting to find out.

looks like it starts as a fuel fire in the carbs , hence the cloths over it . he may have thought it was out then hit the ignition with NOS still armed and BOOM !! . fuel lines torn off will spray fuel everywhere

Bet ya left nut it aint pump super running in it either ;)

I didn't think it was flamable either. I always thought nos shrank fuel so you could squeeze more fuel into the cylinders to get a bigger bang.

No. IIRC, when it is burnt in the combustion chamber, it makes the existing oxygen cooler, and far more dense = more power.

It isn't flammable though, despite the Fast an Furious movies using it to blow cars up with ciggarette lighters.
