Garrett M27 turbo for 4.2?

We are working on some motors for work. An opportunity has come up to get a Garrett m27 turbocharger pretty cheap. Would this turbo be suitable for a 4.2 patrol? The exhaust housing is Ar 70. I can't see the inlet size numbers.
Are these turbo's any good?
Any help appreciated.

M27 is not a turbo designation. Although it is a number cast on the compressor housing, it seems to be just be a number that identifies the raw casting.
There should be a tag on the compressor housing, which will have several numbers on it. Post these up here as one of the numbers is the Garrett part number and with it the info on the turbo can be found (the part number is usually 6 digits followed by a "-", then a revision number).

The only other numbers on the inlet side are B.G.G.3 or B.C.C.3. Can't quite make it out. The exhaust side numbers are DH8GA2 with an M1 below them.
Is that any help?

That number doesn't look like a Garrett part number to me - possibly very early, but from what I know, for many years they have used a 6 digit number followed by a revision number (separated by a dash).
The relevant number should be on the compressor cover/housing - there are usually a few numbers (OEM number, Garrett part number & turbo serial number). Sometime these numbers are on an attached tag sometimes they are etched into the cover (never cast in my experience).
I have a number of catalogues for Garrett turbos in pdf format that date back several years. I tried the pdf search on the number you gave (with and without the 'P') and nothing turned up.
I have some catalogues that cross reference Garret part numbers to various engines so if you post, or pm me the engine details (manufacturer, size etc.) I might find some more info.
Edit: you already have given the A/R for the turbine housing, the other important info includes sizes (inducer & exducer) for the compressor impeller and inducer for the turbine impeller. You could measure these directly, but they are easier to look them up if you can find the part number.

The motor is a 1998 model deutz diesel. It's a marine motor. The plaque on the side of the motor reads - engine tipo TD229-6 . It's a 6 cylinder. It has 77 kilowatts.
Trying to get some more info

I put that engine number into google and this came up. It seems the turbo is a TO4B88 Garrett.

Would this Turbo suit?
