stumbled across a smashed 1988 GQ 4.2 ute and was thinking about bout grabbing the front diff for a diff upgrade. I know ( or at least i think i know) thats its a h233 vs my mq c200

How much wider are they ? i think its was only an inch or so from memory

How much stronger would it be compared to the C200 pretzels?

Do the axles snap easilly ? if so how hard are they to find,or upgrade?

Do the steering knuckles use MQ brake mounting points or the GQ ones? looked like it was mq, the gq ones are a bit longer i think, meaning i cant Do a twin piston upgrade later

Are CV's normal GQ ticket item?
Is it worth doing the swap?

Should i reveal where this ute is waiting to be stripped? all thats left is diffs and what look like a reasonable body. interior is pretty much guttered but 3/4 passenger seat is still there.

Look at my members thread. I did this a few years ago.

Wicked probably has it covered in his build thread, but you certainly don't need to change the whole diff just to run GQ CV's. They will fit in your mq diff and onto a standard MQ axle. Just need the GQ free wheel hub parts, even MQ outer bit of the free wheel hub is the same standard item. I did this on old MQ years ago.

Steering parts to change in a whole diff swap, can't imagine its too straight forward.

If he use'd his MQ Knuckle's he only needs to change his relay arm (Box too diff) Lenght, extend it about 20mm i think.

Housing, Axles, cv and diff centre only need to be changed.
