Anyone got any ideas on how to stop a warn hi mount brake from rusting and seizing when not in use?
Is there some treatment or way of assembling that stops this or is it a matter of putting a cover over it.
All help and suggestions welcome.

Just keep it clean and try to keep it dry. Dont use a lube on it for obvious reasons. Include it in your normal servicing schedual and if you are going wheeling then run your winch out and back in a couple of times to keep it moving.

Thanks Tough Nut - figured as much
The truck sits outside so might make up a cover at least for the brake so not get wet and will make sure it gets a run on each trip

Give it a spray with a phosphate rust convertor and let it dry. It will help a bit.

Bazzle thanks
A suggestion I got on another forum is to nickle plate the brake discs
They say never rusts again!
