I was wondering if early model 40 cruiser diff centres (semi floating axels) go into later model 40 (full floating) diff. I have a couple of old style diffs & am wanting to know if these are ok to put in my 82 model housings & if axels are the same? the other question is do 60 series centres fit the late 40 diffs........ any help is greatly appreciated...... THANKS

Gday the 60 ctr will fit straight in with the drive flange being the only difference. The early diffs will not fit because you need the ass end of the housing to come off to fit the circlips to the axles.

I mean axel splines. I realise the semi float axel needs a removable rear case. I just want to use the early centre with my late floating axels & housing. can this be done????????
