I am chasing some pics and info on how to protect rear panels from the wheel arch back to the tail lights. I am doing a 1/4 panel chop this weekend and will be making a rear tube bar soon but I need some extra bar work to come up the sides as I have smashed both sides in the same spot slidding into trees.
Any pics or info on how two make this extra bar work strong would be great.

I had the same problem as you. I decided for a tube bar that Patroldocta sell . The bar is wider than the body (maybe 12cm) and it looks better than I thought it would.
Her is a link with a pic:

I think that this will pretty much prevent the rear panels from being smashed in most situations.
Cheers

You could integrate barwork to protect the tail light too. I've yet to come up with something practical that looks neat and doesn't draw too much attention. My quarters are quite second hand too. A full exo would be nice as I've already creased my roof as well

i had creased both my quarters in exactly the same spot. suprisingly on trees too. Since i have chopped the quarters and made a tube rear bar i have not done any more damage. IMHO a tube bar will stop you doing any damage if you do slide into a tree and still look good.
