I took the bait, n i'll bite and stoop to the level of "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard".
So you just dropped it upto leon and threw cash at it or what? haha
No i wasn't saying you cant drive, depends alot on how theyve been treated and no there not the strongest box, but ive never heard of 5th blowing out although im not a "hilux mechanic" , i dont know how you turn it into neutral unless you've loaded the gear up that much and then the turbo spools up and throws a bucketload of torque onto the gear with the least amount of teeth = weak, out of the 20??? hiluxs that are like my sisters boyfriends cousins aunties mates i havnt heard of 5th going.
Haha dont take stuff to heart, especially when i never said your sh!t at it. Everyones ready to punch everyone through the keyboard over a bit of constructive critism
Nup, dont know any hilux drivers, dont know any and espesially with rare g52's.
PS. you didnt have 600nm of torque, you had 600ft lbs of torque. I'd like to see the sheet showing 600nm, chassis dyno's dont measure nm, they measure ft lbs/tractive force. So get YOUR facts right
.
PPS,I know they break 2nd although USUALLY when shifting into 2nd or into 3rd because the bearing is about as big as a spigot bearing haha.
haha 146hp, wow, well my d!cks bigger than yours heres my sheet with another 110hp on you and only revving it to 4900rpm, dont know if you can read it or you just pay someone but the a/f ratios are a tad on the lean side at 4700 resulting in the opposite to what is normally wanted powerwise. On a basic backyard tune first time even looking at the software of a aftermarket ecu, It hasn't blown g52s everywhere, runnin 35s daily on road.
Said it before said it again, i didnt say anyone couldn't drive, driving style is driving style.
Shoot me a pm and ill send u a 9 min video of it being driven as hard as you could possibly drive a car in 4 hi running a moto circuit, to the point where the centre housing studs stretched and was p!ssing oil when it went across the finish, and a water temp that was better just not to look at the guage, but the box still survived, could have broken, expected it to, but the talk to any hilux owner or arsehat mechanic they'll tell ya.
In no shape or form are they "strong", but anyone who says driving style has nothing to do with longevity of drivetrain components is a wank3r.
And theres another box that will bolt on thats up there in strength with the 151 but these boxs aren't 15 years old and it costs around 800 but you dont need a $400 adaptor, but you'll be able to research or ask all the hilux owners and full sick mechanics what box it is.
