1.3L Transfer noise.

Post by Buggerific »

Hi all,

Recently put a bearing kit through my standard 1.3 transfer. All bearing noise has now gone and it's much nicer to drive... But I now have a clunking noise when i take my foot off the accelerator and remove load.

It also makes an interesting clunking noise as i slow down, at speed its fine but if I slow down in neutral it clunks and the speed of the clunks slow as the speed of the car does. This generally happens if slowing while downhill, I was thinking maybe the selector between 2wd and 4hi was touching slightly...

Has anyone had a similar problem/noise?

if ya transfer was noisy before u rebuilt it it probably hid all the other noises :D , check ya diff out for backlash in the pinion, as this is a common problem.
