can a 75 series front drive shaft be reversed to alleviate the issue of being too close to the crossmember when putting in 3 inch lift

depends

Some transfer case flanges are small some are big.

Take a quick measurement of the bolt centers and have a look

Don't take my word for it, but i had my front drive shaft reversed in mine for probably 4 months after a few late nights of changing my gearbox. Didn't realize until a few months later when the bastard had to come out again because the throwout bearing seized up. Didn't seem to affect anything at all really.
