TD42 fuel filter housing
TD42 fuel filter housing
I am doing a conversion from tb42 to td42 i have an after market fuel filter housing with a donaldson filter with glass water trap just want to know what your thoughts are on these should i keep it or try chase up an original housing cheers
Is that the type that uses a CAV 296 filter?
If so I would keep it in preference to the standard filter.
1. The glass bowl allows you to see the crap / water.
2. Replacement filters are cheap so you can replace them more often and still be in front.
3. Replacement filters can be bought just about anywhere.
On the TD42, you will need a lift pump to bleed the fuel lines and filter, which is normally part of the standard mounting assembly.
You either need an adapter to mount the aftermarket filter to the stock lift pump, or an aftermarket lift pump.
