Grease

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me where all the grease points are for a 92 GQ Diesel (not mechanically minded, so be precise if possible)?
Also, what type of grease should be used.
Should you keep greasing through the nipple until you see clean grease coming out, or do you just put a few squirts in there

Cheers

Easily serviceable grease points are all on the steering links - called the tie rod (the rod behind the front diff, connecting the left and right diff knuckles) and the drag link (rod at the front of the front diff, from the pitman arm on the steering box, to the passenger side knuckle) on the ends of the ball joints, on the ends of both of these steering links, will be a small grease nipple, a couple of pumps is fine if regularly serviced (5,000 km) or pump until you see clean grease oozing out if you are unsure of their last service, move the joint around a bit to circulate the new grease and pump in a bit more for good measure. Once done regularly, 2 or so pumps is all that will be needed.

A molybdenum disulphide grease is usually used here, sometimes just called a 'moly' grease.

Steering joints "may" have plugs in them. Remove and insert grease nipples and leave there.
Also 3 on each drive shaft, 2 x unis and one slip joint.

For steering and u joints pump until grease comes out. For slip joints just a few pums will do it.

Grease type, whatever is in the gun :P

when you say "insert grease nipples" you mean just pump grease into the nipple, or do you mean remove the existing plug and replace with a grease nipple for future use?
