Just wondering if anyone can help me with my gq patrol. I have a TD42 with a GU standard turbo kit on it , 3inch straight through exhaust and about 10 psi of boost ... I have heard of a few ppl saying to use T28BB as a good upgrade but what exhaust housing is suitible for this ..... Also is using a intercooler going to be a big help? Is top mount or front mount better ? And does anyone have some pics of different intercooler setups on a gq so I can get ideas

garret gt2860, get a custom dump made for it. Then get it tuned and you'l be smiling,
depends where you live there is a guy here in gympie qld that can do all this setup for you for a tad over 2500 which is very cheap, installed and dynoed.

get the standard turbo and throw in bin there absolute crap,

Gt2860 is that a .63 rear exhaust housing? And I live down in Geelong VIC so qld isn't really a option .... Doing the work myself isn't a problem I just wanna make sure that I'm going down the right path before I do anything .... Because I've never had a turbo diesel car before

Intercooler is a big help with the pyro temps if you srart fueling it up and putting more boost in. I droped about 100 deg C after I fitted the cooler.

Thank u so much for that info thats the one answer ive been trying to ask ppl for the last 2 weeks and no one could give me a straight answer .... this is perfect that means the turbo i have sitting in my shed is the right one ..... lucky because i brought it as a brand new unit still in the original box never used for $200

hey mate if you can give me the build numbers which are on the turbo build plate (little shiny plate near oil feed) should be able to tell you exactly what turbo it is because there are alot of garretts with .64 housings just different trim and exd an ind.

cheers Tye
