sierra fuel issue

Ok, so my 84 sj50 1.3 sierra won't fire or start in the morning due to no fuel in the carby. If I put a approx a tablespoon/serving spoon full of petrol in the top it starts immediately and will run and start fine all day. Alternatively if I tow it for about 100m it will eventually start and then run and start fine all day. There are no visible fuel leaks around the carby or in the fuel system. Should I:
1. Rebuild the carby?
2. Replace the fuel pump?
3. replace the fuel lines?
4. Something else?

Check to see if the carby "pump jet" is squirting fuel as soon as you press the accelerator.
If it isnt then the carby would need a reco,(or maybe the pump passage can be cleared ).
If it is squirting fuel, check the ignition that you have good spark, and also do a compression test..

If you are not sure about the carby PM me your number and I will see if I can help.

Cheers Louie.

if its ony in the morning or after a time that it hasent run for a while ( few hours ) you may have a vacume leak in a fuel line i had same trouble in my deisel patrol spent many many dolars on it and still not fixed went out bought 40$ on new fuel line and all solved.. its the cheapest option... fuel pumps diaphram may have perrished to... E10 is deadly for old style rubbers and plastics
