Water to air installation questions.

I have searched and can't find the answers to what I'm sure quite a few of you will think are noob questions so here goes.....
Whats the best place in a water to air system to install the pump ?
Having had nothing at all to do with water to air intercoolers before whats the best coolant to use ? (I assume coolant is used ?)
I picked the whole kit up cheap and figured it would be an easy install and so far a few small mods and it is but I thought the pump positioning could be critical or am I over-thinking the whole thing? All advice/consructive critisism is appreciated.

you will want to install the pump on the outlet side of the radiator, just after the water has been cooled, as the electric pumps don't like very hot water running through their plastic impellers.

The air to wate intercooler should have its own water system so it dosent need the engine coolant it has its own heat exchanger.The filler point should be at the highest point and the pump at the lowest point of the water circut.And yes coolant is used i just use a alloy sutiable coolant

I had coolant in my system, but got rid of it and just use plain water, as there was some electrolysis happening in the core.
No probs with the warmish water going thru my pump. I pump the cooled water from heat exchanger to the core. I have an extra tank for added capacity. I can send some pics if you want.

got the PWR unit in mine and it runs well after a few mods, here what i found worked best for a "warmed/modified engine"
Surge tank helped heaps to stop aeration of coolant and hence overflow when hot.
Install filler on top of surge tank at highest point.
Ended up doubling up the heat exchangers that were supplied with unit, so go as big as poss straight away.
Make sure coolant flow is OPPOSITE to air flow, (basic thermodynamics for extracting the most heat out.)
Have the highest Coolant line made of ribbed clear hose so you can see what's going on with Flow/Aeration/Filling etc.
Had no drama so far with pump after intercooler so far at lowest point behind left head light. (its nearly 2 years old now)

You can just see the lower hose from heat exchanger. Pump goes to this, out the top to intercooler core. Pump is mounted behind bullbar.
Reservoir.
New core.

those fitting are EXPENSIVE!!!!!...nice job, get much heat soak unlagged?
here my set up 12months ago, a few changes since but you get the idea....

yeh good hey bit more pokier down low and holds 20 psi right threw. should hopfully get it on the dyno this week end . had a few dramas with that slip joint in the exhaust manifold so i ended up welding it no more exhaust leaks .
