Hi I am looking at buying a gu 2.8 and doing an engine change to a 4.2 diesel. I would like to know your thoughts on this and if it is worth it and what would be involved?

u will need a new gear box, cross member, clutch lines, only good thing is the alt will bolt up. the 3L is a lot ezyer, u can use the gear box ( will need new bell housing or drill and tap starter motor holes), far bit of the wiring will plug in, just need to connected power to injector pump. also will need to change top radiater tank, acculater pedal and cable

the 2.8 is probably the hardest vehicle to start with when going to TD42, very easy for BR25 mind you!
You will need to weld new engine mount supports onto the chassi also
