90's landcruiser fuel tank recalls

does anyone know what the issue was with the fuel tank leakage on early 90's landcruisers?
My son has an 80 series with a leaking main tank around the seam and we noticed there was a recall just wondering if it was a seam issue. Anyone remember this one.
