conversion bj40 1hz

Hey guys, I have done bj40, conversion with a 1hz out of a 100 series with the gearbox transfercase but i have the problem with my back tailshaft the angle is not right. It is hitting the universal joints what can I do to over come this problem I no I have to angle the diff but how much and what sort of tailshaft can I use if you could help would be much appreciated.

cut the spring perches off your diff, weld new ones on with the diff pointed straight at the pumpkin with full weight on the springs. use a double cardin joint driveshaft.

i'm assuming your problem is because the drivetrain is too long, resulting in a stupidly short rear shaft. otherwise, ignore my advice

How do you point the diff at the pumkin?

What I think hes trying to say is point the rear pinion at the transfer case rear output.. If you did do this, then you might have to address outer pinion bearing oiling issues..

Have a read of the bellavista, get yourself a angle finder gauge and check your set up.

If your shaft is too short, the driveshaft angles will be too steep for the uni joints. Going through this at the moment.
You can rotate the rear diff pinion to point at the transfer case and run a double cardan cv joint at the transfer case end.

Down side to the double cardan is the cost.
Maybe move the rear diff back and lower the transfer to improve angles?

you could go 60 series or custom rear springs to move the diff back a bit as well then use a longer shaft.

I would flip the rear springs around, and post up some pics. I think flip the rear springs, and you might be okay. If its just too short a drive shaft issue.
